Teresa Schlomer - Rocky Grad

I was very excited to travel to Billings last weekend and squeeze in some time with my good friend Teresa! Teresa and I played golf together for two years at Rocky Mountain College. The countless rounds of golf and 15 hour bus rides were MUCH more enjoyable with her company. Always positive, outgoing and never short on words, Teresa is not only a terrific golfer, but also a wonderful friend and a beautiful subject to photograph. She will be graduating with a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Managements and Communications this May. Best of luck chasing your dreams after Graduation T. Emily & Shaun Engagement

A few months ago I met up with Emily & Shaun at a coffee shop in downtown Bozeman. They are just terrific! It is so fun to meet new couples...especially the ones that just seem to perfectly fit together, like these two. They both love the snow, so we braved the cold on Sunday and wandered around an old building where we found all sorts of fun backgrounds. I was very thankful that Emily wore boots rather than heels as she was up to her knees in snow for a few shots - although that is not apparent in the few I chose to post here. I cannot wait for July when I get to venture to Paradise Valley and spend some more time with this fun, cute, and absolutely wonderful couple on their wedding day! ~ Carlie

Morgan + Steve - January 15, 2010

Last weekend I enjoyed the beautiful drive through Paradise Valley up to one of my favorite wedding locations ~ Chico Hot Springs. Chico is a very meaningful place for Morgan and Steve and will hold many great memories as it is where they got both engaged and married! Morgan Mathis and I attended Three Forks High School together over 5 years ago and I was excited that she had asked me to share in her special day. It was a very intimate ceremony with close friends and family and they couldn't have asked for a nicer January day. Morgan looked like a princess with the snow capped mountains in the background and I have never seen a groom with a bigger smile on the day of his wedding. May the two of them share many happy years together and make frequent visits to Chico to revisit the magical place where it all began! ~ Carlie

Class of 2010 - Senior Portraits

At the end of the year, I always look forward to revisiting my library of images and picking out my favorites from each shoot. In addition to shooting weddings and engagements, I also love spending one on one time getting to know and shooting portraits of graduating seniors. They are always full of excitement and anxious to discover what the future holds. I spent a few hours yesterday reviewing all of the photos from my senior portrait sessions. I had fun recalling the individuality of each of my subjects - some were bubbly and outgoing, like Aubrey - our shoot was full of laughter and creative poses; while others were shy and and took a few wise cracks to loosen up in front of the camera. Towards the end of each shoot, however, everyone was comfortable striking poses and ended up with a diverse collection of beautiful portraits to choose from for their frames, invites, yearbooks, and local newspapers. Congratulations to those of you graduating this Spring! Hopefully someday down the road we will cross paths again when the wedding bells ring! Hello Everyone!

I would like to take a brief moment to introduce myself as the newest member of Blubird Images. After assisting Lauren, Larry, and Meggan this summer at numerous weddings and in the studio, they asked me to hop aboard and I gladly accepted the invite. As many of you have probably done for hours on end, I used to watch for each new posting and slideshow of these wonderfully talented photographers. I am so excited to now be one of them! I attended the Rocky Mountain School of Photography two summers ago and since then have immersed myself in photography with every spare moment I find. In addition to assisting, I shot solo over the past year at many weddings, and though it was a great experience, I am looking forward to being part of a team and a BluBird photographer! I have recently uploaded my portfolio to the website ~ check it out and let me know what you think! I absolutely love spending time getting to know couples like those of you reading this blog and capturing priceless moments and expressions on your wedding day. I look forward to meeting you this wedding season!

The weather turned out to be very nice for this August 15 wedding in Big Sky, MT. It was unusually cold and windy for mid August in Montana, but the sun came out and it didn't rain. It was wonderful to be a part of Andi and Liberty's wedding - what an amazing love story. A few years ago they were reunited on Facebook. They use to date in high school and hadn't seen each other in over almost 15 years. They are truly in love and are such a beautiful couple! Liberty and his band played a few hours in the afternoon and they brought all their toys - 4 wheelers, bows, tractor rides for the kids - it was a unique celebration that was so much fun! - Meggan

I love Butte, America and I had the most amazing day photographing Kate and Matt's wedding. The following photos are a few of my favorite shots. On Sunday Larry and Lauren hosted a Blubird workshop for Meggan and I. After some office time we headed out to Bear Canyon to photograph some couples as we would for an engagement session. We all had so much fun! Thanks so much to Amory + James, Kelly + Jon for being our fantastic subjects.

Glacier Winter Wedding

Though spring seems to have officially arrived, I wanted to share the winter wedding I photographed back in February. Erin and Chris celebrated up in West Glacier at the Belton Chalet. A beautiful, historic hotel! Not to mention, you're up in the mountains and less than a mile from the entrance to Glacier National Park.
If you haven't already seen them, check out Larry's pictures of the wedding! They are beautiful and I am so lucky that he came with me.

Blubird Images featured in Montana Bride!

It has been so much fun watching our new business grow and take flight. I am excited announce that Blubird Images has officially been published! The new 2009 issue of Montana Bride hit the state this week with a colorful cover that I had the pleasure of shooting in last July.

This is the Blubird Images ad that is featured on page 33. Larry and I chose this image that Jennie Lynn took last summer. We thought that she captured this touching moment beautifully; one that every woman can relate to.

On page 65, 2 images of Meggan's are featured in the "Real Montana Bride" photos section. Her images are the sepia image on the top left and the image of the bride's back holding red roses.

Congratulations Meggan and Jennie Lynn! You two fabulous!

Wow - what a beautiful day! Jenny Lynn and I assisted Larry on this seriously spectacular wedding. Dee Dee and Scott's wedding was amazing! You wouldn't know it was the middle of February in Montana - warm, sunny and Montana blue skies! It was wonderful to get to know fellow Livingston residents and be a part of their special day!
